The units in the Low Flow Series have also been known as “standard multi-orifice back pressure regulators”. A mouth ful, but also somewhat misleading, as there is nothing “standard” about these this subtype of the Equilibar Research Series. If anything, we consider these pressure valves as “Theย Standard” for research applications.
Yes, these pressure regulators are in fact commonly sold and broadly applied. The units in the Low Flow Series are based on Equilibar’s unique, patented multi-orifice technology and have an extremely wide flow range and superior (two-phase) flow performance.ย Because of their broad specifications, the LF units serve almost every research applicationย you can think of!
The Low Flow regulators (or: standard multi-orifice regulators) in theย Equilibarยฎย Research series are most popular because they serve almost every research application. For instance, they can achieve stable pressure control in ultra low flow applications from subatmospheric pressure up to 690 bar (10.000 psi).
The low flow series covers no less than 10 different models: LF0/1/2 going up to 69 bar (1.000 psi), H3P0/1/2 going up to 206 bar (3.000 psi), H6P0/1/2 going up to 412 bar (6000 psi) ย and H10P going up to 689 bar (10.000 psi).
All these units have 4 inlet orifices, like most other Equilibar back pressure regulators. The outlet contains 2 orifices, making it more suitable for two-phase flow. These back pressure regulators can control stable pressure over a Cv range of 1:100.000 in open loop control. Temperature range (subject to material selection) is between -20ยฐC and 650ยฐC.
