Electronic pressure control: Single valve set-up

A single valve electronic pressure controller contains a pressure transmitter, a PID controller, and a proportional valve. Depending on which pressure you want to maintain, the valve is placed upstream or downstream of the pressure sensor. The signal from a pressure transmitter is fed into a PID controller. The PID controller will actuate the proportional valve to reach the requested setpoint. To select the right pressure transmitter, PID controller, and proportional valve, parameters like pressure-controlled volume, fill time, flow, nature of the media, temperature, etc. need to be considered. Electronic pressure control: Dual Valve set-up

Electronic dual valve controllers offer great precision and stability by utilizing two proportional valves to regulate pressure. This configuration allows for increasing and decreasing pressure, making them ideal for applications requiring fine-tuned pressure adjustments over a large pressure range. Dual valve controllers can significantly reduce consumption by closing both valves within a certain bandwidth, ensuring efficient operation. They are designed to accommodate fast increases and decreases in pressure, providing rapid response times. Additionally, these controllers can be finely tuned to meet specific customer needs, offering greater flexibility and reliability in complex process environments. Our dual valve controllers, such as the Bronkhorst PPC, Alicat PCS Dual Valve, DRP-70 EPC, and HP-ERC Series, are designed to meet the highest performance and durability standards.

Electronic reference pressure controllers

Generally speaking, we offer high-precision electronic pressure controllers to control pressure in a small closed volume. This could be any volume that requires constant pressure, regardless of the environmental conditions and/or adiabatic compression or decompression. Combining an electronic pressure controller with an Equilibar back pressure regulator allows creating a stable pressure inside the valve, being a small closed volume. This is one of the most convenient ways to pilot the Equilibar dome-loaded back pressure regulator. By controlling the small closed volume above the diaphragm of the back pressure regulator, the process will stay at constant pressure at all times.

Single Valve Controllers

Within the ERC Series, we offer single-channel electronic pressure regulators as well as multi-channel units. Customers use these units often for high throughput catalytic systems where you can keep multiple reactors under pressure with an Equilibar back pressure regulator. You can use the multichannel units to create a very stable pressure at the reference of a dome-loaded valve.

Dual Valve Controllers

We also offer Dual Valve controllers. The choice of product for your application depends on multiple factors, such as the pressure that you want to maintain at the reference of the back pressure regulator; And whether you have a requirement to minimize gas consumption. For example, if you run a low-pressure application, and you have machine shop air available, you may be less focused on the consumption of air and a single valve controller could be your choice. For higher pressures, minimizing pressurized gas consumption might become more relevant to you and a dual valve electronic pressure controller might be a better fit.
